In early July, Istanbul hosted the RoboCup Junior world robotics championship. 18 teams from 16 countries took part (China ×2, Brazil, Germany, Switzerland, Slovakia ×2, Hungary, Austria, Thailand, Mexico, Portugal, Iran, Slovenia, Sweden, USA, Japan, Italy). Students of the Secondary School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Maribor — Bojan Potočnik (2nd year, technical gymnasium) and Tadej Tofant (3rd year, technical gymnasium) — achieved an excellent result.

In the RESCUE B category, after 9 robot runs, they took an excellent second place in the world. In the competition of the best mixed teams, together with a Slovak team, they finished third. We thank all the donors who made the trip possible. Congratulations to both students and their mentors (Slavko Nekrep, Danilo Germ, Milan Ivič) on an outstanding international success.
