At first, things didn't go to plan.
Maze category – the robot didn't work. Too many small errors. Too little time. Everything that had worked before refused to work at the competition. The first day was a disaster. The second day, after a whole night of programming, started much better. But the first three rounds on day one were enough to rule out any hope of a top result.
Simulation category – in the preliminary group we lost the first match. And another one, but won the rest. After the first day we were third in the preliminary group, and only the two best teams go through to the semi-finals. Luckily, the next day we won by a big enough margin to take 2nd place in our group and break into the world's top 6.
In the Maze category we spent the last day and night adapting the robot for the “SuperTeam” competition, where together with the team Kavosh from Iran we had two excellent runs and were even in the lead for a while. In the end, though, we had to settle for 5th place.
