World Championship, 2024
From 17 to 21 July 2024, students of the Secondary School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Maribor took part in the RoboCup 2024 world championship, held this time in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. Almost 3,000 participants from 43 countries were at the venue every day. It took place in an indoor sports complex, across three buildings, each adapted and prepared to meet the requirements of the competition.
Our school was represented by two teams, each in its own category: Rescue Maze (Rene Potočnik, Luka Zamuda) and Rescue Simulation (Nejc Konjiček, Tadej Božičko). All of them represented not only our school but also our country successfully and with dignity.
The days at the venue were demanding and quite a challenge for our competitors. Even so, they showed great drive and an excellent competitive spirit. Everyone sacrificed a lot of sleep, but unfortunately it didn't work out in the end: neither team made the top 5 in its category.
